How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water or another drink, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Important

One tablet daily is usually the maximum dose.

  • Bone thinning or weakening (osteoporosis), possibly leading to fractures
  • Swelling in arms, hands, feet, and ankles (edema)
  • Depression
  • Weight gain
  • Hair loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Abdominal pain
  • Dry skin
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Heart palpitations, fast heartbeat
  • Stiff joints (arthritis)
  • Chest pain
RARE
  • Weakness, paralysis, or numbness in any body part (especially arms or legs), poor coordination, nausea, speech or breathing difficulties (signs of stroke)
  • Sudden, crushing chest pain (signs of heart disease)
  • Swelling and redness along a vein, with severe tenderness and possibly pain when touched (signs of a blood clot)
  • High fever, chills, mouth sores caused by infections (due to low white blood cells)
  • Severe, persistent blurred vision
  • Tendon inflammation (tendinitis)
  • Breathing difficulties, chest pain, fainting, increased pulse, bluish discoloration of the skin, or sudden pain in an arm, leg or foot (signs of a blood clot)
  • Tendon rupture
  • Swelling, mainly in the face and throat area (signs of an allergic reaction)
  • Yellowing of skin and whites of eyes, nausea, loss of appetite, dark urine (signs of liver inflammation)
  • Rash, red skin, blisters on lips, eyes or mouth, skin peeling, fever (signs of a severe skin disease)
  • Nervous conditions such as anxiety, nervousness, irritability, drowsiness, memory problems, sleepiness, or insomnia
  • Pain or burning sensation in hands or wrists (carpal tunnel syndrome)
  • Decreased sensitivity, especially to touch
  • Eye problems such as eye irritation
  • Skin problems such as itching (hives)
  • Vaginal discharge or dryness
  • Thirst, changes in taste, dry mouth, or dry mucous membranes
  • Weight loss
  • Urinary tract infection, more frequent need to urinate
  • Cough
  • Increased enzyme levels
  • High bilirubin levels in blood (a breakdown product of red blood cells)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to letrozole or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you still have your periods or have not yet gone through menopause.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant.
  • Do not take if you are breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney disease.

  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of bone weakening (osteoporosis) or fractures.
  • This medicine can cause tendon inflammation or injury; if a tendon feels sore or swollen, rest the area and contact your doctor.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy, tired, sleepy, or generally unwell until you feel normal again.
