How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 10 mg once a day. Your doctor may increase it to 20 mg per day if needed.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water, preferably in the morning at least 15 minutes before breakfast.

Important

Do not take more than 20 mg in one day.

  • More frequent urge to urinate
  • General chest pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lercanidipine hydrochloride or any other ingredients in it.
  • Do not take if you have certain heart problems like untreated heart failure, a narrow heart valve, unstable chest pain (angina), or if you had a heart attack in the last month.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney disease, or if you are on dialysis.
  • Do not take with certain medicines that affect your liver, such as some antifungal medicines (like ketoconazole), some antibiotics (like erythromycin), some antiviral medicines (like ritonavir), or ciclosporin.
  • Do not take this medicine with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it can increase the medicine's effect.

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine is not for children under 18 years old.
  • Do not drive or use machines if this medicine makes you feel dizzy, weak, or sleepy.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include ankle oedema and orthostatic hypotension. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 17.2.2025)
