How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one 10 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may increase it to one 20 mg tablet daily if needed.

Method

Take the tablet whole with half a glass of water, preferably in the morning at least 15 minutes before breakfast. A high-fat meal can increase the medicine's levels in your blood. The score line is only to help you swallow the tablet, not to divide it into equal doses.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lercanidipine or any other ingredient in the tablet.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have certain heart problems, such as uncontrolled heart failure, narrowing of the heart's outflow tract, unstable angina, or if you've had a heart attack less than a month ago.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver disease or severe kidney disease, or if you are on dialysis.
  • Do not use this medicine with certain other medicines that block CYP3A4 enzymes (such as some antifungal, macrolide antibiotic, or antiviral medicines) or with ciclosporin.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice, as it can increase the medicine's effects.

  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy, weak, or sleepy.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include ankle oedema and orthostatic hypotension. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 17.2.2025)
