How to Use

Dosage

The starting dose is usually 12.5 mg once or twice a day, then gradually increased to 200 450 mg daily, divided into several doses.

Method

Place the tablet on your tongue and let it dissolve before swallowing. You can take it with or without water. Take the tablet immediately after removing it from the package.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 900 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Drowsiness, dizziness, increased saliva.
  • Headache, tremors, stiffness, restlessness, seizures, muscle twitches.
  • High blood pressure, feeling weak or dizzy when standing up, dry mouth.
  • Difficulty holding urine, tiredness, increased sweating, fever, speech problems.
  • Weight gain, blurred vision.
RARE
  • Anemia (low red blood cell count), restlessness, agitation, confusion, hallucinations.
  • High blood sugar, diabetes, liver inflammation, yellow skin or itching.
  • Pancreas inflammation with severe stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Fainting and muscle weakness due to low blood pressure, difficulty swallowing.
  • Weight gain, breathing pauses during sleep or snoring.
  • Uncontrolled movements of the mouth, tongue, or limbs, obsessive thoughts and repetitive behaviors.
  • Skin reactions, facial swelling, breathing difficulties, high blood fat levels, sudden unexplained death, prolonged painful erection, easy bleeding or bruising.
  • Uneven blood sugar, kidney inflammation (nausea, vomiting, tiredness, weight loss).

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to clozapine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you cannot have regular blood tests.
  • If you have ever had a low white blood cell count, especially if caused by medicines.
  • If you had to stop taking Leponex before because of serious side effects, like a lack of white blood cells or heart problems.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have flu-like symptoms, sore throat, fever, or other signs of infection, as you need an urgent blood test.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience a fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, breathing difficulties, or unexplained tiredness.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have severe constipation, abdominal pain, fever, or bloody diarrhea.
