How to Use

Dosage

The typical daily dose is 200-450 mg, divided into several doses.

Method

Place the disintegrating tablet on your tongue and let it dissolve before swallowing, with or without water. Take it immediately after removing it from the package.

Important

The maximum daily dose for schizophrenia is 900 mg. For Parkinson's related disorders, it is 100 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Drowsiness, dizziness, increased saliva.
  • Increased white blood cells, weight gain, blurred vision, headache.
  • Tremors, stiffness, restlessness, seizures, muscle twitching, unusual movements, difficulty starting movement.
  • Changes in heart rhythm (ECG), high blood pressure, feeling dizzy or weak when standing up.
  • Dry mouth, minor liver test changes, problems with urination (incontinence or difficulty).
  • Fatigue, increased sweating, increased body temperature, slurred speech.
  • Sudden fainting or loss of consciousness with muscle weakness.
RARE
  • Low red blood cells (anemia); feeling restless, agitated, confused, or having hallucinations.
  • High blood sugar, diabetes, or blood clots in the lungs or legs.
  • Severe liver problems (like inflammation, yellow skin, dark urine, or itching) or severe pancreas problems (severe stomach pain with nausea/vomiting).
  • Fainting or muscle weakness due to very low blood pressure.
  • Trouble swallowing; significant weight gain or stopping breathing during sleep (sleep apnea).
  • Involuntary movements of your mouth, tongue, or limbs; obsessive thoughts or repetitive behaviors.
  • Skin reactions (rashes, swelling of face/mouth/throat, itching) or breathing problems.
  • Changes in brain activity (EEG); very high blood fats; or sudden unexplained death.
  • Persistent painful erection (priapism); easy bleeding or bruising due to low platelets; or kidney problems (reduced urine, nausea, weight loss).
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure or uncontrolled twisting of the body.
  • Restless legs syndrome; heavy sweating, headaches, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea (cholinergic syndrome).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to clozapine or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you cannot have regular blood tests.
  • Do not take if you have a history of low white blood cell count caused by medicines.
  • Do not take if you have had to stop Leponex before due to serious side effects like severe low white blood cells or heart problems.
  • Do not take if you have severe heart muscle inflammation or other serious heart disease.

  • Do not take if you have severe active liver disease or very severe constipation due to paralyzed bowels.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you get flu-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, infection).
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have a sudden high fever, stiff muscles, and feel confused or pass out.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if your heart beats fast or irregularly, or you have palpitations, shortness of breath, chest pain, or unexplained tiredness.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have severe nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, severe abdominal pain, or bloody diarrhea.
