How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will start you on a low dose, typically 12.5 mg, and gradually increase it over time based on your condition.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be divided into equal doses if needed.

Important

For schizophrenia, the maximum daily dose is 900 mg. For Parkinson's-related disorders, it is 100 mg.

  • Severe burning upper abdominal pain from pancreatitis with nausea/vomiting
  • Fainting and muscle weakness due to low blood pressure
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite
  • Signs of weight gain or obesity
  • Sleep apnea (with snoring)
  • Increased blood platelets (may cause blood clots)
  • Involuntary movements of mouth/tongue/limbs
  • Obsessive thoughts/compulsive behaviors
  • Skin reactions
  • Swelling in front of the ear (enlarged salivary gland)
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Very high blood triglycerides or cholesterol
  • Sudden unexplained death
  • Persistent painful erection (priapism)
  • Spontaneous bleeding or bruising (low platelets)
  • Symptoms of poor blood sugar control (nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, thirst, frequent urination, confusion)
  • Nausea, vomiting, tiredness, weight loss (kidney inflammation)
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain after meals
  • Muscle contractions
  • Stuffy nose
  • Bedwetting
  • Allergic reaction (swelling of face, mouth, throat, tongue, itching, or pain)

Important Warnings

  • You must have regular blood tests before, during, and after treatment, as this medicine can affect your white blood cell count.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you get a fever, chills, sore throat, or other flu-like symptoms, as you may need a blood test.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, or shortness of breath.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe constipation, as it needs to be treated to prevent other problems.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy or dizzy, especially at the start of treatment. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel this way.
