How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe the correct dose, typically 24 mg once daily for thyroid cancer (two 10 mg and one 4 mg capsules), but it may vary for other conditions or based on your weight.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. You can take them with or without food. Take them at approximately the same time each day. Do not open the capsules.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions for the maximum daily dose. Do not take more than prescribed.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Feeling very tired or weak
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, or constipation
  • Loss of appetite or weight loss
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Bleeding, such as nosebleeds, blood in urine, or bruises
  • Redness, soreness, and swelling of the skin on your hands and feet
  • Underactive thyroid (symptoms like tiredness, weight gain, constipation)
RARE
  • Mini-stroke or liver damage
  • Tumor Lysis Syndrome (a serious condition where cancer cells break down rapidly)
  • Enlarged or weakened blood vessel wall (aneurysm) or ruptured blood vessel

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lenvatinib or any other ingredient in it.
  • This medicine can harm an unborn baby. Do not use if pregnant or planning to get pregnant. Use effective birth control during treatment and for at least one month after. Do not breastfeed as it can pass into breast milk.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, stroke, or kidney or liver issues. Your doctor will monitor these conditions closely.
  • Inform your doctor if you recently had surgery or radiation, or if you have mouth, tooth, or jaw pain. This medicine can affect wound healing and may cause jaw bone damage.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or use machines.
