How to Use

Dosage

The dosage varies based on your condition and body weight. For thyroid cancer, it's usually 24 mg once daily. For liver cancer, it's 8-12 mg once daily depending on your weight. For endometrial cancer, it's 20 mg once daily, taken with another medicine. Your doctor will determine the exact dose.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, with or without food. Do not open the capsules. Take the medicine at approximately the same time each day.

Possible Side Effects

  • High or low blood pressure
  • Loss of appetite or weight loss
  • Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or digestive issues

  • Swelling in legs or general body swelling
  • Rash
  • Dry, sore, or inflamed mouth, or strange taste
  • Joint or muscle pain

  • Bleeding (e.g., nosebleeds, blood in urine, bruises, gum bleeding)
  • Sleep problems
  • Changes in urine protein levels or urinary tract infections
  • Headache
  • Back pain
  • Redness, soreness, and swelling of skin on hands and feet
  • Underactive or overactive thyroid
  • Changes in blood potassium and calcium levels (low)
  • Decreased white or red blood cell count
  • Changes in liver function blood test results
  • Low platelet count (bruising, poor wound healing)
  • Changes in blood magnesium levels (low) or cholesterol levels (high)
  • Changes in kidney function blood test results
  • Increased lipase and amylase levels (digestive enzymes)

RARE
  • Painful infection or irritation near the anus
  • Mini-stroke
  • Liver damage
  • Severe pain in upper left abdomen (spleen infarction)
  • Wound healing problems
  • Jawbone damage (osteonecrosis)
  • Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS)
  • Other types of fistulas (abnormal connections between organs)
  • Enlarged or weakened blood vessel wall (aneurysm or dissection)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lenvatinib or if you are breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart or brain problems, or liver or kidney problems.
  • Women who can become pregnant must use effective contraception during treatment and for one month afterwards.
  • Inform your doctor if you have had recent surgery or radiation therapy, or if you are scheduled for major surgery.
  • Be cautious if you are over 75, weigh less than 60 kg, or have abnormal connections between organs (fistulas).

  • Pay special attention to any pain or problems in your mouth, teeth, or jaw.
  • Report any signs of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) immediately to your doctor, such as nausea, shortness of breath, or muscle cramps.
