How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take them with or without food, at about the same time each day as instructed by your doctor.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fewer red blood cells, causing tiredness and weakness (anemia)
  • Rashes or itching
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, muscle aches, bone pain, joint pain, back pain, or limb pain
  • General swelling, including swelling in arms and legs
  • Weakness or tiredness
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms, including fever, muscle pain, headache, earache, cough, and chills
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation on the skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, or tremor
  • Reduced appetite or altered taste
  • Increased pain, larger tumor size, or more redness around the tumor
  • Weight loss
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or heartburn
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, or sodium in the blood
  • Underactive thyroid gland
  • Leg pain (may be a symptom of a blood clot), chest pain, or shortness of breath (may be a symptom of a blood clot in the lungs, called pulmonary embolism)
  • All types of infections, including sinus, lung, and upper respiratory tract infections
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blurred or weakened vision
  • Clouding of the eye (cataract)
  • Kidney problems or abnormal kidney function
  • Abnormal or increased liver test results
  • Changes in blood proteins, which may cause blood vessel inflammation (vasculitis)
  • Increased blood sugar (diabetes) or decreased blood sugar
  • Headache
  • Nosebleed
  • Dry skin
  • Depression, mood changes, or sleep problems
  • Cough
  • Low blood pressure
  • General discomfort, feeling unwell
  • Sore, inflamed mouth or dry mouth
  • Dehydration
  • Confusion
  • Toothache
  • Falls, which can cause injury
RARE
  • Destruction of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia)
  • Certain types of skin cancers
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines
  • Increased blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat
  • Increased amount of a substance resulting from normal and abnormal red blood cell breakdown
  • Increased amount of a protein indicating inflammation in the body
  • Darkening of the skin, skin discoloration from bleeding (usually bruising), skin swelling from bleeding, rash, red skin, cracking, peeling or hives
  • Increased uric acid in the blood
  • Increased sweating or night sweats
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, changes in voice, or runny nose
  • Urinating much more or less than usual, inability to control urination, blood in urine, or erectile dysfunction
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (may be a symptom of heart failure)
  • Stroke, fainting, dizziness (vertigo), or temporary loss of consciousness
  • Chest pain that spreads to your arms, neck, jaw, back or stomach, sweating, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting (signs of a heart attack)
  • Muscle weakness or lack of energy
  • Neck pain, chest pain, chills, or joint swelling
  • Slowed or blocked bile flow from the liver, low blood phosphate or magnesium levels, or trouble speaking
  • Liver damage
  • Balance problems, difficulty moving, deafness, or ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Nerve pain or unusual sensations, especially when touched
  • Excess iron in the body or thirst
  • Bleeding inside the skull, circulation problems, vision loss, or decreased sex drive
  • High urine production with bone pain and weakness (may be signs of a kidney condition called Fanconi syndrome)
  • Yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain, or abdominal swelling (may be signs of liver damage or failure)
  • Stomach pain, abdominal swelling, or diarrhea (may be symptoms of inflammation of the large intestine, such as colitis or appendicitis)
  • Damage to kidney cells (renal tubular necrosis)
  • Changes in skin color or sensitivity to sunlight
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic complications from dying cancer cells, leading to changes in blood chemistry, kidney problems, heart rhythm changes, seizures, or sometimes death, and high blood pressure in the blood vessels supplying the lungs)
  • Sudden or mild but worsening upper abdominal and/or back pain that lasts for several days, possibly with nausea, vomiting, fever, and fast heart rate (signs of pancreatitis)
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or dry cough (may be symptoms of lung tissue inflammation)
  • Muscle breakdown (muscle pain, weakness, or swelling), which can cause kidney problems (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Skin disease caused by inflamed small blood vessels, with joint pain and fever (leukocytoclastic vasculitis)
  • Breakdown of the stomach or intestinal wall, which can lead to very serious infection. Seek medical help for strong stomach pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, bloody stools, or changes in bowel habits.
  • Viral infections, including shingles (painful blistering rash) and reactivated hepatitis B infection (yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, right-sided stomach pain, fever, nausea/vomiting)
  • Rejection of a transplanted organ (e.g., kidney, heart)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, as Lenalidomide Stada can harm the unborn baby.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as hives, rash, swelling of eyes, mouth or face, difficulty breathing, or itching.
  • Widespread skin rash, red skin, high body temperature, flu-like symptoms, liver problems, or swollen lymph nodes (signs of severe skin reactions like DRESS or Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Symptoms of infection, such as fever, chills, sore throat, cough, mouth sores, or signs of blood poisoning (sepsis).

  • Unexplained bleeding or bruising.

  • Bone pain, muscle weakness, confusion, or tiredness (signs of high calcium in your blood).
  • Blurred or lost vision, double vision, trouble speaking, weakness in an arm or leg, changes in walking, balance problems, numbness, loss of feeling, memory loss, or confusion (signs of a serious brain condition called PML).
  • Shortness of breath, tiredness, dizziness, chest pain, faster heartbeat, or swelling in your legs or ankles (signs of a serious condition called pulmonary hypertension).
