How to Use

Dosage

Take Lenalidomide Sandoz exactly as your doctor tells you. The dose depends on your illness and other medicines you are taking.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water; do not break, open, or chew them. You can take them with or without food, at approximately the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose as part of your treatment cycle, which can be 21 or 28 days long, and will tell you on which days to take the medicine.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Reduced red blood cells (anemia), which can cause tiredness and weakness
  • Rashes, itching
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, muscle pain, bone pain, joint pain, back pain, limb pain
  • General swelling, including swelling of arms and legs
  • Weakness, fatigue
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle aches, headache, ear pain, cough, chills)
  • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation on the skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, tremor
  • Reduced appetite, changes in taste
  • Increased pain, tumor size increase or increased redness around the tumor
  • Weight loss
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn
  • Low potassium, calcium, and/or sodium levels in blood
  • Underactive thyroid
  • Calf pain (could be a sign of a blood clot), chest pain or shortness of breath (could be signs of blood clots in the lungs)
  • All types of infections, including sinus infection, lung infection, and upper respiratory tract infection
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blurred vision
  • Clouding of the eye (cataract)
  • Kidney problems (kidneys not working properly)
  • Abnormal liver function test results
  • Changes in blood protein that can cause swelling of arteries (vasculitis)
  • Increased or decreased blood sugar (diabetes)
  • Headache
  • Nosebleeds
  • Dry skin
  • Depression, mood changes, sleep difficulties
  • Cough
  • Low blood pressure
  • General discomfort, feeling unwell
  • Sore inflamed mouth, dry mouth
  • Dehydration
  • Falls, which can cause injuries
RARE
  • Bleeding inside the skull
  • Circulatory problems
  • Worsening vision or vision loss
  • Loss of sex drive (libido)
  • Large amount of urine, bone pain and weakness, which may be symptoms of a kidney disorder (Fanconi syndrome)
  • Yellowing of skin, mucous membranes, or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, abdominal pain or swelling – these could be signs of liver damage (liver failure)
  • Abdominal pain, swelling or diarrhea, which may be symptoms of colon inflammation (colitis or appendicitis)
  • Kidney cell damage (renal tubular necrosis)
  • Skin color changes, sensitivity to sunlight
  • Tumor lysis syndrome – severe complications from dying cancer cells that can affect kidneys, heart, and cause seizures
  • Increased blood pressure in blood vessels carrying blood to the lungs (pulmonary hypertension)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Lenalidomide Sandoz if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, as it can severely harm the unborn baby.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots before, as you may have a higher risk during treatment.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have signs of infection like fever, cough, or sore throat, or if you have had viral infections such as hepatitis B or shingles.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney or heart problems, including high blood pressure or cholesterol, or a history of heart attack.

  • Seek immediate medical attention if you develop a severe skin reaction, such as widespread rash, fever, swelling, or blistering.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience vision changes, speech difficulties, weakness in arms or legs, or confusion, which could be signs of a serious brain disease (PML).
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, or chest pain, as these could be signs of a serious lung condition (pulmonary hypertension).
  • Do not donate blood, sperm, or semen during treatment or for at least 7 days after treatment ends.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy, tired, drowsy, or have blurred vision after taking this medicine.
  • It's important to know that a small number of patients may develop other types of cancer during treatment, and this risk might be increased with Lenalidomide Sandoz.
