How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you exactly how much Lenalidomide Orion to take.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, do not break, open, or chew them. You can take this medicine with or without food, at about the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose and may adjust it based on blood test results and your overall health.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low red blood cells (anemia), causing tiredness and weakness.
  • Skin rash and itching.
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, and pain in muscles, bones, joints, back, arms, or legs.
  • General swelling, including swollen arms and legs.
  • Weakness and tiredness.
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle aches, headache, earache, cough, chills).
  • Numbness, tingling, burning sensation in skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, tremor.
  • Decreased appetite and altered taste.
  • Increased pain, tumor growth or redness around the tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn.
  • Low potassium, calcium, and/or sodium levels in blood.
  • Underactive thyroid gland.
  • Leg pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath (possible signs of a blood clot in the lungs).
  • All types of infections, including sinus, lung, and upper respiratory tract infections.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Blurred vision or cataracts (clouding of the eye lens).
  • Kidney problems.
  • Abnormal liver function test results or increased liver enzyme values.
  • Changes in blood protein that can cause blood vessel swelling (vasculitis).
  • High or low blood sugar levels.
  • Headache.
  • Nosebleed.
  • Dry skin.
  • Depression, mood changes, sleep problems.
  • Cough.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • General feeling of being unwell.
  • Sore, inflamed mouth or dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
RARE
  • Breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia).
  • Some types of skin tumors.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Increased amount of a substance resulting from normal and abnormal breakdown of red blood cells.
  • Increased amount of a protein indicating inflammation in the body.
  • Darkening of the skin, skin discoloration from bleeding under the skin (bruising), or swelling of the skin due to bleeding.
  • Increased uric acid levels in the blood.
  • Skin symptoms like redness, cracks, flaking, peeling, or hives.
  • Increased sweating, including night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, hoarseness, or changes in voice.
  • Runny nose.
  • Producing much more or much less urine than usual, inability to control urine, or blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (may be a sign of heart failure).
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Stroke, fainting, dizziness (inner ear problem causing a spinning sensation), or temporary loss of consciousness.
  • Chest pain that spreads to the arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach, with sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting (these can be signs of a heart attack).
  • Muscle weakness or lack of energy.
  • Neck pain or chest pain.
  • Chills.
  • Joint swelling.
  • Slowed or blocked bile flow from the liver.
  • Low phosphate or magnesium levels in the blood.
  • Difficulty speaking.
  • Liver damage.
  • Balance problems or difficulty moving.
  • Deafness or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain, unpleasant or unusual sensations, especially when touched.
  • Excess iron in the body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that may cause injuries.
  • Bleeding inside the skull.
  • Circulation problems.
  • Vision loss.
  • Loss of sexual drive.
  • High urine production with bone pain and weakness (may be signs of a kidney disorder called Fanconi syndrome).
  • Yellow skin, mucous membranes, or eyes (jaundice), light stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain or swelling (these can be signs of liver damage).
  • Stomach pain, swelling, or diarrhea (may be signs of colon or appendicitis inflammation).
  • Damage to kidney cells (renal tubular necrosis).
  • Changes in skin color, sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (a metabolic complication that can occur during cancer treatment, where dying cancer cells release substances that can harm kidneys and heart).
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
  • Sudden or worsening pain in the upper abdomen and/or back, lasting several days, possibly with nausea, vomiting, fever, and fast pulse (pancreatitis).
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or dry cough (may be signs of lung inflammation).
  • Muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), causing muscle pain, weakness, or swelling, possibly leading to kidney problems.
  • Skin disease caused by inflammation of small blood vessels, with joint pain and fever (leukocytoclastic vasculitis).
  • Rupture of the stomach or intestinal wall, which can lead to severe infection. Tell your doctor if you have severe stomach pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, bloody stools, or changes in bowel habits.
  • Viral infections, including shingles (herpes zoster) and reactivation of hepatitis B infection (can cause yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, right-sided abdominal pain, fever, nausea, or vomiting).
  • Rejection of transplanted organs (e.g., kidney, heart).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, as it can harm the baby.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots before, as this medicine increases your risk of getting blood clots.
  • Tell your doctor if you have signs of an infection, such as a cough or fever.
  • Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.

  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop a severe skin rash, skin peeling, or swelling of the face, eyes, or mouth, as these can be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you experience blurred vision, speech problems, weakness on one side of your body, or confusion, as these could be signs of a serious brain condition.
