How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much Lenalidomide Orion to take.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole, preferably with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take the medicine with or without food, around the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Anemia (tiredness, weakness).
  • Rash, itching.
  • Muscle cramps, muscle and joint pain, bone and back pain, pain in arms and legs.
  • Swelling, especially in the arms and legs.
  • Weakness, fatigue.
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms (such as muscle aches, headache, cough, chills).
  • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation on the skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, tremor.
  • Reduced appetite, changes in taste.
  • Increased pain, larger tumor size, or increased redness around the tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn.
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, and/or sodium in the blood.
  • Underactive thyroid.
  • Leg pain (which could be a symptom of a blood clot), chest pain, or shortness of breath (which could be a symptom of a blood clot in the lungs).
  • Various infections, including sinus infections, lung infections, and upper respiratory tract infections.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Blurred vision.
  • Cataracts (clouding of the eye).
  • Kidney problems.
  • Abnormal liver test results.
  • Changes in blood proteins that can cause swelling of blood vessels (vasculitis).
  • High blood sugar (diabetes).
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Headache.
  • Nosebleed.
  • Dry skin.
  • Depression, mood changes, insomnia.
  • Cough.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • General feeling of discomfort.
  • Sore or inflamed mouth, dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
RARE
  • Breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia).
  • Certain types of skin cancers.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Increased levels of substances released from normal and abnormal red blood cell breakdown.
  • Increased levels of a protein indicating inflammation in the body.
  • Skin darkening, bruises, skin swelling due to bleeding.
  • Increased uric acid in the blood.
  • Skin symptoms, skin redness, cracked, flaky or peeling skin, hives.
  • Increased sweating, night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, difficulty producing sound or voice changes.
  • Runny nose.
  • Abnormal urine output (too much or too little), urinary incontinence.
  • Blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (may be a symptom of heart failure).
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Stroke, fainting, dizziness (vertigo), temporary loss of consciousness.
  • Chest pain radiating to arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach, sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting (these can be symptoms of a heart attack).
  • Muscle weakness, lack of energy.
  • Neck and chest pain.
  • Chills.
  • Joint swelling.
  • Slow or blocked bile flow from the liver.
  • Low phosphate or magnesium levels in the blood.
  • Speech difficulties.
  • Liver damage.
  • Balance disorders, movement difficulties.
  • Deafness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain, unpleasant or abnormal sensations, especially to touch.
  • Excess iron in the body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that may lead to injury.
  • Bleeding inside the skull.
  • Circulation problems.
  • Loss of vision.
  • Loss of libido (sex drive).
  • High urine output with bone pain and weakness (Fanconi syndrome, a kidney disorder).
  • Yellowing of skin, mucous membranes, or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain or swelling (these can be symptoms of liver damage).
  • Stomach pain, swelling, or diarrhea that may be symptoms of colon or appendix inflammation.
  • Kidney cell damage (renal tubular necrosis).
  • Skin discoloration, sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (when cancer cells break down and release chemicals into the blood, affecting kidneys and heart rhythm).
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels supplying the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
  • Pancreatitis: sudden or worsening upper abdominal and/or back pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, and rapid heart rate.
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or dry cough (may be a sign of lung inflammation).
  • Muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), which can cause muscle pain, weakness, swelling, and kidney problems.
  • Skin disease caused by inflammation of small blood vessels, with joint pain and fever (leukocytoclastic vasculitis).
  • Rupture of stomach or intestinal wall, which can lead to a very serious infection.
  • Viral infections, including shingles (herpes zoster) and reactivation of Hepatitis B infection.
  • Rejection of a solid organ transplant (such as kidney, heart).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, as it can harm the unborn baby.
  • You must use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy during and after treatment.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots, as this medicine increases the risk of blood clots.
  • Tell your doctor if you have signs of infection, such as cough or fever.

  • Inform your doctor if you have had viral infections, such as Hepatitis B, chickenpox, or HIV.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if the medicine makes you feel dizzy, tired, or causes vision problems.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience a severe allergic reaction (e.g., hives, swelling of face/mouth, difficulty breathing, widespread rash with skin loss, or DRESS syndrome).
  • Report immediately to your doctor if you have symptoms such as fever, chills, sore throat, unexplained bleeding/bruising, chest/leg pain, severe shortness of breath, bone pain with confusion/fatigue, vision/speech/balance problems, persistent numbness, or swelling in legs/ankles.
