How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you exactly how much to take, as it varies for each person based on your condition and blood test results.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take them with or without food, around the same time each day, as instructed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling tired or weak due to low red blood cells.
  • Rash or itchy skin.
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, or pain in muscles, bones, joints, back, or limbs.
  • Swelling, especially in your arms and legs.
  • Weakness or general tiredness.
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms, like muscle aches, headache, earache, cough, and chills.
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning feeling in the skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, or shaky hands.
  • Less appetite or changes in how food tastes.
  • More pain, larger tumors, or redness around a tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, feeling sick (nausea), throwing up (vomiting), stomach pain, or heartburn.
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, or sodium in your blood.
  • Underactive thyroid.
  • Leg pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath (these could be signs of a blood clot).
  • Infections, including sinus infections, lung infections, and upper respiratory infections.
  • Blurred or reduced vision.
  • Clouding of the eye (cataract).
  • Kidney problems (kidneys not working well).
  • Abnormal or high liver test results.
  • Changes in blood protein that can cause swelling of blood vessels.
  • High or low blood sugar.
  • Headache.
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Dry skin.
  • Feeling down (depression), mood changes, or trouble sleeping.
  • Cough.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • General feeling of being unwell.
  • Sore and inflamed mouth, dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
  • Breakdown of red blood cells.
  • Certain types of skin cancer.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Skin darkening or discoloration from bleeding (bruises or swelling).
  • High uric acid in the blood.
  • Red, cracked, peeling, or scaly skin, hives.
  • Increased sweating or night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, or voice changes.
  • Runny nose.
  • More or less urine than usual, or trouble controlling urine.
  • Blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (could be a sign of heart failure).
  • Erectile dysfunction (trouble getting or keeping an erection).
  • Stroke, fainting, vertigo (dizziness like the world is spinning), or temporary loss of consciousness.
  • Chest pain that spreads to arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach, with sweating and shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting (could be signs of a heart attack).
  • Neck pain, joint swelling, or problems with balance or movement.
  • Slowed or blocked bile flow from the liver, liver damage.
  • Low blood phosphate or magnesium.
  • Speech problems.
  • Deafness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain, uncomfortable or unusual sensations, especially when touched.
  • Too much iron in the body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that may cause injury.
RARE
  • Bleeding inside the head.
  • Circulation problems.
  • Loss of vision.
  • Loss of sex drive.
  • Urinating a lot, with bone pain and weakness (may be signs of kidney problems).
  • Yellow skin, eyes, or mucous membranes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain or swelling (may be signs of liver damage).
  • Stomach pain, swelling or diarrhea (may be signs of colon or appendix inflammation).
  • Kidney cell damage.
  • Skin discoloration or increased sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (problems from dying cancer cells that can affect kidneys, heart rhythm, or cause seizures).
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
  • Sudden or worsening upper stomach or back pain, possibly with nausea, vomiting, fever, and fast heartbeat (may be signs of pancreas inflammation).
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or dry cough (may be signs of lung inflammation).
  • Muscle breakdown (muscle pain, weakness, or swelling) which can cause kidney problems.
  • Skin disease from small blood vessel inflammation, with joint pain and fever.
  • Stomach or intestinal wall rupture, which can lead to very severe infection.
  • Viral infections, including shingles (painful rash) and recurring Hepatitis B (can cause yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, stomach pain, fever, nausea/vomiting).
  • Transplant rejection (e.g., kidney, heart).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or planning to become pregnant, as it can harm the baby. Use effective birth control.
  • Do not use if allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction (hives, rash, swelling of eyes, mouth, or face, trouble breathing, itching, or severe skin reactions with peeling skin).
  • Tell your doctor right away if you have signs of infection (fever, chills, sore throat, cough, mouth sores), bleed or bruise easily, have chest or leg pain (which could be blood clots), shortness of breath (which could be blood clots in the lungs), or have bone pain, muscle weakness, confusion, or tiredness (which could be due to high calcium levels).
  • This medicine can lower your white blood cells (increasing infection risk), red blood cells (causing tiredness and weakness), and platelets (increasing bleeding and bruising risk). It can also cause blood clots.

  • Report changes in vision (blurred, loss, double), speech problems, weakness in arms or legs, changes in walking, balance issues, numbness, confusion, or memory loss to your doctor immediately, as these could be signs of a serious brain condition (PML).
