How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the correct dose for you.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take the medicine with or without food, at about the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose based on your condition.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Lower red blood cell count, causing tiredness and weakness (anemia)
  • Rash and itching
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, muscle pain, bone pain, joint pain, back pain, limb pain
  • General swelling, including arms and legs
  • Weakness, tiredness, fever, and flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle ache, headache, cough, chills)
  • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation in skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, tremor
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, decreased appetite, altered taste, weight loss
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, and/or sodium in the blood
  • All types of infections, including sinus, lung, and upper respiratory infections
  • Blurred or reduced vision, clouding of the eye (cataract)
  • Kidney problems, abnormal liver test results
  • Headache, nosebleed, dry skin, depression, mood changes, sleep problems
RARE
  • Breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia)
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or bowels
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat
  • Skin darkening, discolored skin due to bleeding under the skin, often caused by bruises, swelling of skin filled with blood; bruising
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, impaired voice quality or voice changes
  • Significantly more or less urine than usual, inability to control urination, blood in urine
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Stroke, fainting, vertigo (inner ear disorder causing a sensation of spinning), temporary loss of consciousness
  • Yellowing of skin, mucous membranes or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, skin itching, rash, stomach pain or swollen stomach - these can be signs of liver damage (liver failure)
  • Intracranial bleeding, vision loss
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic complications due to breakdown of cancer cells)
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels supplying the lungs (pulmonary hypertension)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, as it can harm the unborn baby. Women must use effective contraception during treatment.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if this medicine makes you dizzy, tired, or causes vision problems.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a severe allergic reaction, such as hives, rash, swelling of the face or eyes, difficulty breathing, or itching.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have fever, chills, sore throat, or other signs of infection.

  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have shortness of breath, chest pain, or leg pain, as these could be signs of a blood clot.
