How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact dose and how often you should take Lenalidomid Avansor capsules.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take the capsules with or without food, around the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will set your maximum daily dose based on your treatment cycle; do not exceed it.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decreased red blood cells (anemia), causing tiredness and weakness.
  • Skin rashes and itching.
  • Muscle cramps, pain, and weakness.
  • Bone, joint, back, or limb pain.
  • General swelling, especially in arms and legs.
  • General weakness and fatigue.
  • Flu-like symptoms (fever, body aches, headache, cough, chills).
  • Numbness, tingling, burning, or pain in hands and feet.
  • Dizziness or tremors.
  • Decreased appetite or changes in taste.
  • Increased pain or redness around a tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn.
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, or sodium in the blood.
  • Underactive thyroid.
  • Leg pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath (possible signs of blood clots in legs or lungs).
  • All types of infections (e.g., sinus, lung, upper respiratory tract).
  • Blurred vision, decreased vision, or cataracts.
  • Kidney problems (kidney dysfunction).
  • Abnormal or increased liver test results or liver damage.
  • Blood vessel swelling (vasculitis), caused by changes in blood proteins.
  • High or low blood sugar (diabetes).
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Dry skin.
  • Depression, mood changes, difficulty sleeping.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Feeling generally unwell.
  • Sore or dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
  • Destruction of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia).
  • Certain types of skin tumors.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Increased substance from red blood cell breakdown.
  • Increased inflammatory protein in the body.
  • Darker skin, bruises, skin swelling from bleeding.
  • High uric acid in blood.
  • Skin symptoms (redness, cracking, flaking, peeling, hives).
  • Increased sweating, night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, or voice changes.
  • Runny nose.
  • Changes in urine amount or control, or blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath when lying down (sign of heart failure).
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Stroke, fainting, vertigo, or temporary loss of awareness.
  • Heart attack symptoms (chest pain spreading to arms, neck, jaw, back, stomach, sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting).
  • Chills.
  • Joint swelling.
  • Blocked bile flow from the liver.
  • Low levels of phosphate or magnesium in blood.
  • Speech problems.
  • Balance problems or difficulty moving.
  • Deafness or ringing in ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain or strange sensations to touch.
  • Too much iron in the body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that can cause injury.
RARE
  • Bleeding in the brain (intracranial hemorrhage).
  • Circulatory problems.
  • Loss of vision.
  • Loss of sex drive (libido).
  • High urine output with bone pain and weakness (signs of a kidney issue called Fanconi syndrome).
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain, or abdominal swelling (signs of liver damage or liver failure).
  • Abdominal pain, swelling, or diarrhea (signs of large intestine inflammation like colitis or appendicitis).
  • Kidney cell damage (renal tubular necrosis).
  • Skin color changes or sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic issues from dying cancer cells that can affect kidneys, heart, and cause seizures).
  • High blood pressure in lung arteries (pulmonary hypertension).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, as it can harm the unborn baby.
  • If you can become pregnant, you must use reliable contraception and have regular pregnancy tests during and after treatment.
  • Male patients must use a condom during treatment and for 7 days after stopping if their partner is pregnant or can become pregnant. Do not donate semen.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, as your risk of developing them may increase during treatment.

  • Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or vision problems.
  • Do not donate blood during treatment or for 7 days after stopping treatment.
