How to Use

Dosage

For adults and children over 4 years: Lecrolyn 20 mg/ml: 1-2 drops in each eye 4 times a day. Lecrolyn 40 mg/ml: 1-2 drops in each eye 2 times a day. For children under 4 years, use only as your doctor tells you.

Method

Wash your hands. Open the bottle and be careful not to touch the tip. Tilt your head back, pull your lower eyelid down, look up, and squeeze one drop into your eye. Close your eye and press the inner corner of your eye with your finger for about one minute. Close the bottle tightly. If you use other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each type.

Important

For Lecrolyn 20 mg/ml, up to 8 drops per day (1-2 drops, 4 times a day). For Lecrolyn 40 mg/ml, up to 4 drops per day (1-2 drops, 2 times a day).

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary stinging or burning when putting drops in.
  • Local irritation in the eye.
  • Short-term blurry vision.
RARE
  • Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity reactions).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any other ingredient in Lecrolyn eye drops.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using these drops. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in, as the drops can change their color.
  • If you have dry eyes or problems with your cornea (the clear front part of your eye), the benzalkonium chloride in the drops might cause irritation. If you feel any unusual irritation, stinging, or pain after using the drops, talk to your doctor.
  • If your symptoms do not get better after 3 days, or if they get worse, contact your doctor.
  • Do not use the solution if it looks cloudy.

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
  • Once opened, use the bottle within 28 days.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
