How to Use

Dosage

One drop in the affected eye(s) once a day.

Method

Put one drop in the eye, preferably in the evening. If you use contact lenses, take them out before putting in the drops and wait 15 minutes before putting them back.

Important

Do not use more than once a day, as it may not work as well.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Gradual change in eye color, usually to a browner shade. This change can be permanent.
  • Redness of the eye.
  • Eye irritation (burning, itching, stinging, or feeling like something is in your eye).
  • Gradual changes to eyelashes and fine hair around the treated eye, such as darkening, thickening, and increased number of lashes.
  • Irritation or damage to the eye's surface.
  • Eyelid inflammation (blepharitis).
  • Eye pain.
  • Sensitivity to light (photophobia).
  • Inflammation of the conjunctiva (pink eye).
RARE
  • Swelling of the eyelids.
  • Dry eyes.
  • Inflammation or irritation of the eye's surface (keratitis).
  • Blurred vision.
  • Inflammation of the colored part of the eye (uveitis or iritis).
  • Swelling of the retina (macular edema).
  • Skin rash.
  • Chest pain (angina), feeling your heart beat fast, worsening chest pain in patients with heart disease.
  • Asthma, shortness of breath, worsening of asthma symptoms.
  • Headache, dizziness.
  • Muscle pain, joint pain.
  • Nausea, vomiting.
  • Skin reactions on eyelids, darkening of eyelid skin.
  • Eyelashes growing inwards or an extra row of eyelashes.
  • Fluid-filled cyst in the colored part of the eye (iris cyst).
  • Severe skin itching.
  • Development of a herpes simplex virus (HSV) eye infection.
  • Sunken eyes.
  • Clouding of the clear front part of the eye (cornea) due to calcium buildup (very rare).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to latanoprost or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are going to have eye surgery or have recently had eye surgery (including cataract surgery).
  • Tell your doctor if you have other eye problems like eye pain, irritation, inflammation, or blurred vision, or dry eyes.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe asthma or if your asthma is not well controlled.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had or currently have a herpes simplex virus (HSV) eye infection.

  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor says it's okay.
  • This medicine may cause blurry vision for a short time. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear.
