How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one injection every 28 days, with your doctor choosing from 60 mg, 90 mg, or 120 mg strengths.

Method

This medicine is given as a deep injection under the skin by a healthcare professional, a trained person, or yourself after proper training. Injection sites are typically the upper outer part of the buttock or the outer upper thigh.

Important

This medicine is not for daily use; the maximum dose is 120 mg given as a single injection, usually every 28, 42, or 56 days, as prescribed by your doctor.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to lanreotide, somatostatin, similar medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you have diabetes, this medicine can affect your blood sugar levels, so your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication.
  • This medicine can cause gallstones or make existing ones worse; your doctor may monitor your gallbladder.
  • If you have thyroid problems, this medicine may slightly reduce how well your thyroid works.
  • If you have heart disease, especially a slow heart rate, tell your doctor, as this medicine can slow your heartbeat further.
