How to Use

Dosage

You usually start with a small dose, taken twice a day, about 12 hours apart. Your doctor will slowly increase your dose over several weeks until you reach the right amount for you.

Method

Shake the bottle well before use. Take the syrup using the provided measuring device, with or without food. You can mix it with a small amount of water or take it directly from the syringe.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults is 60 ml. For children and adolescents under 50 kg, the maximum dose depends on their weight, as directed by your doctor.

  • Slow heartbeat, palpitations, irregular pulse, or other changes in heart's electrical activity
  • Excessive feeling of well-being, seeing and/or hearing things that are not real
  • Allergic skin reaction, hives
  • Abnormal liver function in blood tests, liver damage
  • Suicidal thoughts or attempts
  • Feeling angry or agitated
  • Unusual thoughts or feeling disconnected from reality
  • Severe allergic reaction causing swelling of the face, throat, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
  • Fainting
  • Involuntary movements
  • Abnormally fast heart rate (ventricular tachycardia)
  • Sore throat, fever, and getting infections more often than usual (may indicate a severe decrease in certain white blood cells)
  • Severe skin reaction with fever, flu-like symptoms, facial rash, widespread rash, swollen lymph glands
  • Widespread rash with blisters and skin peeling (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), or a more severe form (toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Seizures (convulsions)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lacosamide or any other ingredient in it.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a heart problem that causes a very slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat, or if you have severe heart disease.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have thoughts about harming yourself.
  • Be careful if you often feel dizzy or fall, as this medicine can increase that risk.
  • Do not drive or use machines until you know how this medicine affects you, as it can cause dizziness or blurred vision.

  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it can make your seizures worse.
