How to Use

Dosage

For ages 0-5, take 1 tablet; for ages 5-15, take 2 tablets; for ages over 15, take 3 tablets.

Method

Take the tablets as soon as possible after the bite or sting with a small amount of liquid. The tablet has a score line if you need to break it for easier swallowing.

Important

This is a single-dose medication. Do not take more than the recommended dose in one day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Always seek medical attention for a snake bite, even after taking this medicine. If a bee or wasp sting causes a strong reaction (like severe weakness, dizziness, nausea, swelling of lips/mouth, or breathing difficulties), contact a doctor or emergency services (112) immediately.
  • Snake bites can cause nausea and vomiting, so take the tablets with only a small amount of liquid and avoid more liquids for 30 minutes.
  • Contact a doctor if you experience blurred vision or other sight problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or suspect you have a rare adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma) or an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). Seek immediate medical help if you experience muscle weakness, muscle pain, cramps, or stiffness while using hydrocortisone.

  • Do not give tablets to an unconscious person.
  • This medicine contains lactose. If you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • A snake bite or wasp/bee sting itself can cause dizziness, weakness, and nausea, which may affect your ability to drive. Avoid driving if you feel these symptoms.
