How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide the right dose for you, as it varies for different patients.

Method

It is given as an injection into a muscle or a vein.

Important

The maximum daily dose will be determined by your doctor and should not be exceeded.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, drowsiness, sweating, dizziness
  • Swelling at the injection site
  • Nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea
RARE
  • Stomach inflammation (gastritis), stomach ulcer, bloody stools, gas, constipation, rectal bleeding, mouth inflammation, vomiting, dry mouth
  • Taste disturbances, tingling skin
  • Depression, insomnia, nervousness, euphoria, impaired concentration, strange thoughts
  • Increased liver enzyme levels (ASAT)
  • Visual disturbances
  • Muscle pain
  • Increased urination frequency, difficulty urinating (urinary retention), decreased urine volume
  • Shortness of breath, asthma, nosebleed
  • Itching, redness, rash, skin bruises (purpura)
  • Weakness, thirst, paleness
  • Heart failure
  • Low platelet count
  • Low or high blood pressure, post-surgery bleeding
  • Seizures, muscle spasms (restlessness)
  • Abnormal dreams, hallucinations
  • Hearing loss
  • Acute kidney failure, flank pain possibly with blood in urine and/or increased urea in blood (azotemia)
  • Fluid accumulation in lungs (pulmonary edema)
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) with breathing difficulties (bronchospasm), throat swelling (laryngeal edema), low blood pressure (hypotension), redness, and rash
  • Severe skin reactions, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), red and peeling skin (exfoliative dermatitis), raised rash
  • Worsening of colitis and Crohn's disease, gastrointestinal perforation or bleeding with bloody vomit
  • Slow heart rate, palpitations
  • Tinnitus (ringing in ears)
  • Pancreatitis, esophagitis, painful stomach ulcer (gastric or duodenal ulcer), acid reflux (burping), feeling of fullness
  • Kidney inflammation (nephritis/nephrotic syndrome, hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS))
  • Bruises
  • Skin swelling (angioedema)
  • Fever, injection site reactions, chest pain
  • Anxiety, psychotic reactions (severe mental imbalance)
  • Anorexia, low blood sodium, high blood potassium
  • Meningitis (inflammation of brain membranes)
  • Female infertility
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis), liver failure, yellow skin and eyes (jaundice)
  • Prolonged bleeding time, increased serum urea, increased creatinine, abnormal liver function tests

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ketorolac or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine with other NSAID pain relievers (like ibuprofen) or aspirin.
  • Do not use if you have or have had stomach or bowel problems, such as ulcers or bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver, heart, or kidney problems, or if you are at risk of kidney failure due to dehydration.
  • Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy, during labor, or while breastfeeding.

  • Do not use if you have or have had bleeding in the brain or other serious bleeding disorders.
  • This medicine should not be given before or during surgery due to an increased risk of bleeding.
  • It cannot be given as an epidural or intrathecal injection.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and headache, which may affect your ability to drive or use machines. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these effects.
  • Elderly patients have a higher risk of side effects, especially stomach and bowel bleeding or perforations.
  • Stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you get a severe skin reaction or symptoms like stomach bleeding, liver problems, or a rash.
