Ketesse is a pain-relieving medicine from the NSAID group, used to treat moderate to severe acute pain when oral tablets are not suitable, such as after surgery or for kidney stone pain.
Usually, one Ketesse ampoule (50 mg) every 8-12 hours.
This medicine is given as an injection into a muscle or slowly into a vein by a healthcare professional. You should switch to oral pain relief as soon as possible.
The total dose should not be more than 150 mg (3 ampoules) per day. For elderly patients or those with kidney or liver problems, the maximum daily dose is 50 mg (1 ampoule).
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. For short-term use only. Consider adverse renal effect in chronic kidney disease. Avoid use in moderately severe renal impairment. Increases swelling, worsens renal and heart failure and causes cardiovascular events. Increases risk of bleeding, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Consider potential interactions especially with preparations that increase risk of bleeding. (updated 16.9.2024)
