How to Use

Dosage

The dosage is determined by a specialist in anesthesiology based on your individual needs.

Method

Ketamin Abcur is given as a slow injection into a vein (intravenously) or a muscle (intramuscularly). It can also be given as a continuous drip (infusion).

Important

The maximum daily dose will be determined and monitored by your anesthesiologist.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Hallucinations, abnormal dreams, nightmares, agitation, confusion, or abnormal behavior.
  • Increased body movements (e.g., muscle twitching) that may resemble convulsions, and increased eye movements.
  • Double vision.
  • Increased blood pressure and fast heart rate.
  • Increased breathing rate.
  • Nausea, vomiting, and increased salivation.
  • Skin redness, measles-like rash.
RARE
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Anxiety.
  • Increased eye pressure.
  • Irregular or slow heart rate.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Breathing effects, spasm of the laryngeal muscles.
  • Rash.
  • Increased muscle tone.
  • Pain and/or rash at the injection site.
  • Severe allergic reaction.
  • Delirium, flashbacks, numbness, insomnia, or disorientation.
  • Lung disease, shortness of breath.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ketamine or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not take this medicine if high blood pressure is a serious risk for you.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have eclampsia or pre-eclampsia (a pregnancy complication causing high blood pressure).
  • If you have low blood volume, are dehydrated, or have a heart condition (like heart failure or a heart attack), tell your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure or a fast heart rate.

  • Tell your doctor if you have increased pressure in your brain or spinal cord, or a central nervous system injury or disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have increased eye pressure (e.g., glaucoma) or are having an eye exam or surgery where eye pressure should not increase.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an alcohol problem or are under the influence of alcohol.
  • Tell your doctor if you have neurotic traits or a mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia or acute psychosis).
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of drug abuse or addiction.
  • After outpatient treatment, do not go home alone and do not drink alcohol for 24 hours.
  • Do not drive or use machines for 24 hours after receiving Ketamin Abcur, as it slows down reaction time.
