How to Use

Dosage

Usually 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily. For severe symptoms, your doctor may temporarily increase the dose to 2 tablets (20 mg) once daily.

Method

Take the tablets with liquid, without chewing. You can take them with or without food. The tablets can be divided into two halves.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 2 tablets (20 mg) per day, unless you have severe liver disease, in which case the maximum dose is 1 tablet (10 mg) per day.

  • Headache
  • Drowsiness

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (anaphylaxis, angioedema)
  • Nervousness
  • Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)
  • Dizziness
  • Changes in sensation or taste
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast or irregularly)
  • Abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, upper stomach discomfort
  • Liver problems, increased liver enzyme levels in blood tests
  • Hives, skin rash, skin inflammation
  • Menstrual problems
  • Swelling, fatigue (extreme tiredness)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Kestox if you are allergic to ebastine or any other ingredient in the medicine.
  • Children and adolescents under 18 years should not use Kestox for hives (urticaria).
  • Children under 12 years should not use Kestox for allergic rhinitis.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have low potassium levels in your blood.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe liver problems.

  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking certain antibiotics (like erythromycin), medicines for fungal infections (like ketoconazole or itraconazole), or tuberculosis medicines (like rifampicin), as they can affect Kestox.
  • If you are pregnant, use this medicine only if your doctor says it's absolutely necessary and the benefits outweigh the risks. Ask your doctor for advice.
  • Do not use Kestox while breastfeeding.
  • Be careful of drowsiness or dizziness when driving or operating machinery, especially until you know how this medicine affects you.
