How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 4 mg or 8 mg once daily, depending on your condition and age.

Method

Take the tablet with water, with or without food, around the same time each day to help you remember.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults is typically 32 mg. For children, it varies from 8 mg to 16 mg depending on their weight.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness when standing up
  • Headache
  • Respiratory infection
  • Low blood pressure, causing weakness or dizziness
  • High potassium in blood, which can cause tiredness, weakness, irregular heartbeat, or tingling in hands and feet
RARE
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, making it hard to breathe or swallow (allergic reaction)
  • More infections than usual, with fever, chills, sore throat, mouth sores, or cough, due to low white blood cells
  • Liver problems, shown by nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, general discomfort, fever, itching, yellowing of skin or eyes, pale stools, or dark urine
  • Kidney problems, shown by producing little or no urine, cloudy or bloody urine, painful urination, or lower back pain
  • Skin rash or itchy bumps (hives)
  • Itching
  • Cough
  • Back, joint, or muscle pain
  • Nausea
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., low sodium, high liver enzymes)
  • Swelling in the gut (intestinal angioedema) causing stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • Diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can harm your baby. Avoid during early pregnancy too.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease or problems with bile flow from your gallbladder.
  • Do not give to children under 1 year old.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.

  • Tell your doctor or dentist if you are having surgery, as Kandrozid can lower your blood pressure with some anesthetics.
  • This medicine can make you feel tired or dizzy. Do not drive or use machines if you feel this way.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter medicines.
