How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 4 mg or 8 mg once daily, as prescribed by your doctor.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 32 mg once daily.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness or light-headedness when standing up.
  • Headache.
  • Respiratory infection.
  • Low blood pressure, which may cause weakness or dizziness.
  • High potassium levels in the blood, which may cause tiredness, weakness, or an irregular heartbeat.
RARE
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, making breathing or swallowing difficult.
  • Frequent infections, such as fever, severe chills, sore throat, or mouth sores, due to a low white blood cell count.
  • Abnormal liver function, with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, yellow skin or eyes, or dark urine.
  • Worsening kidney function, with symptoms such as reduced or no urine, cloudy or bloody urine, or back pain.
  • Rash or hives.
  • Itching.
  • Cough.
  • Back, joint, and muscle pain.
  • Nausea.
  • Changes in blood test results, such as low sodium levels or increased liver enzymes.
  • Swelling in the intestines (angioedema), with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Diarrhea.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease or a blocked bile duct.
  • Do not use if you have been pregnant for more than 3 months, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not give to children under 1 year of age.
  • Do not use if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine containing aliskiren.

  • If you experience stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea while taking Kandrozid, tell your doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own.
  • Tell your doctor or dentist if you are going to have surgery, as Kandrozid can lower blood pressure with anesthesia.
  • This medicine may cause tiredness or dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these symptoms.
  • This medicine contains lactose. Talk to your doctor if you have an intolerance to certain sugars.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Kandrozid is not recommended during pregnancy, especially after the first three months.
  • If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed, talk to your doctor. Kandrozid is generally not recommended during breastfeeding.
