How to Use

Dosage

Take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you. The usual dose is 1 to 2 tablets twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Take them while sitting or standing, not lying down.

Important

Do not take more than 4 tablets per day, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to potassium chloride or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have very high potassium levels in your blood (hyperkalemia) or a condition that might cause it.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney failure.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have blockages or narrowings in your food pipe or intestines.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have untreated Addison's disease (a problem with your adrenal glands).

  • Always drink enough water with the tablets to help them pass through your digestive system smoothly.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get severe nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take, as some can increase potassium levels in your blood.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Consider risk of hyperkalaemia in patiets with impaired renal function. The tablet must be swallowed whole. Monitor potassium concentrations. Consider potential interactions medicines affecting potassium homeostasis. (updated 10.6.2024)
