How to Use

Dosage

Adults, including pregnant and breastfeeding women: 130 mg, which is 2 tablets.

Method

You can chew, swallow whole, crush, or divide the tablet and mix it with fruit juice, jam, or milk. If dissolved in liquid, take immediately. Do not take with food.

Important

One dose per 24 hours. Do not take repeated doses if you are a newborn, pregnant, breastfeeding, or over 60 years old.

  • Allergic reactions, such as trouble breathing, hives, or swelling of the face and throat
  • Metallic taste in mouth
  • Thirst

  • Symptoms of an overactive thyroid, such as fast heartbeat, sweating, weight changes, and nervousness
  • Symptoms of an underactive thyroid, such as slow heartbeat, fatigue, feeling cold, weight gain, and depression
  • Enlargement of the thyroid gland (goiter)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to potassium iodide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have certain rare skin diseases (like dermatitis herpetiformis) or a rare blood vessel inflammation (like hypocomplementemic urticarial vasculitis).
  • Only take this medicine when told to by national authorities, not on your own.
  • Do not take if more than 24 hours have passed since you were exposed to radiation, as it may cause harm.
  • Talk to a doctor if you have a thyroid condition, suspected thyroid cancer, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, as this medicine might make these conditions worse.
