How to Use

Dosage

One drop in the affected eye three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) if used alone. If used with other eye drops, one drop in the morning and evening.

Method

Wash hands, tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and put one drop into your eye. Close your eye and press the inner corner for 2 minutes. Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to your eye or any surface.

Important

Your doctor will determine the dose. Typically, no more than three drops per day, one drop in the morning, afternoon, and evening if used alone. Two drops per day if used with a beta-blocker.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning or stinging in the eyes
  • Eye pain, blurred vision, eye discharge and itching, irritation or inflammation of the eyelids
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Bitter taste in mouth
  • Fatigue
RARE
  • Inflammation of the iris (colored part of the eye)
  • Tingling or numbness in hands and feet
  • Temporary nearsightedness (may improve after stopping treatment)
  • Fluid under the retina, eye pain, crusty eyelids, low eye pressure, swollen cornea (vision disturbances), eye irritation and redness
  • Kidney stones
  • Dizziness
  • Nosebleeds, throat irritation
  • Dry mouth
  • Rash, severe skin reactions with blisters or peeling skin
  • Shortness of breath
  • Feeling of something in the eye
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Increased blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Itoco if you are allergic to dorzolamide or other ingredients. Stop use and seek immediate medical help if you experience a severe allergic reaction (such as rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or trouble breathing).
  • Do not use Itoco if you have severe kidney problems, abnormal blood pH, or have had kidney stones.
  • Talk to your doctor if you wear contact lenses.
  • Do not use Itoco during pregnancy. Breastfeeding is not recommended. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Itoco can cause dizziness and blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is clear and you feel well.

  • If you experience eye irritation, redness, or swollen eyelids, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Do not touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or any surface. This can cause infection and serious eye damage.
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
