How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 to 2 tablets or capsules once or twice a day, or as directed by your doctor.

Method

Swallow the tablet or capsule whole with water. Do not chew or crush it.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 100 mg, as directed by your doctor.

  • Stomach pain, diarrhea, dry mouth
  • Itching, pale skin, increased sweating
  • Muscle pain
  • Urination problems, frequent need to urinate
  • Impotence

  • Heartburn
  • Severe skin rash with redness, scaling, peeling, itching, and hair loss
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, and breathing problems
  • Low blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate, other nitrates, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have sudden severe blood circulation problems (shock or collapse).
  • Do not use if you have specific serious heart problems, such as your heart not pumping enough blood, or certain heart muscle or sac diseases.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have severe anemia (low red blood cell count).

  • Do not use if you have severe hypovolemia (too little fluid in your body).
  • Do not use if you are taking medicines for erectile dysfunction (like sildenafil, vardenafil, or tadalafil), as this can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you are taking riociguat, as it can also cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking Isangina, as it can make your blood pressure drop even more.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it can worsen chest pain.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Consider reduced blood pressure and the risk of fainting due to orthostatic hypotonia. Need for long-acting product should be assessed regularly. (updated 19.5.2025)
