How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is 5 to 15 mg, given 1 to 2 times a day.

Method

This medicine is given as an injection into a muscle by a doctor or nurse.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose. It is typically up to 30 mg per day, but always follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Palpitations, slow heart rate
  • Increased salivation, nausea
  • Increased sweating
  • Dizziness, headache, drowsiness (especially with high doses)
  • Increased fluid in airways
  • Vomiting (especially with high doses)
  • Allergic skin reactions (itching, rash) (especially with high doses)
  • Muscle cramps (especially with high doses)
  • Weakness (especially with high doses)
RARE
  • Diarrhea
  • Upper abdominal pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ipidakrin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have epilepsy, severe involuntary muscle movements (hyperkinesia), chest pain (angina pectoris), a slow resting heart rate (below 50 beats per minute), asthma, a blocked bowel or urinary tract, a worsening stomach or duodenal ulcer, or a balance disorder.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you have or have had stomach or duodenal ulcers, thyroid problems, heart or blood vessel disease, breathing problems, or liver problems. Your doctor might recommend regular liver tests.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, as Ipigrix can interact with them. Alcohol may also increase side effects.

  • This medicine may make you feel sleepy, so be careful when driving or operating machines.
  • Stop taking Ipigrix and get immediate medical help if you experience a severe allergic reaction (like sudden hives, swelling of the mouth/throat, trouble breathing or swallowing), a severe skin reaction (like blisters or peeling skin), or an asthma attack.
