How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 5-15 mg (1-2 ml) injected into a muscle, once or twice a day.

Method

This medicine is given as an injection into a muscle.

Important

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 30 mg.

  • Severe allergic reaction with symptoms like itchy rash, swelling of the mouth, breathing difficulties, and swallowing problems (anaphylactic shock)
  • Shortness of breath (asthma)
  • Life-threatening skin reaction with blistering and peeling skin (toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Redness, hives, wheezing, swelling of the throat, rash at the injection site

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ipidacrine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have epilepsy.
  • Do not use if you have movement disorders with uncontrolled muscle spasms (like in the tongue, face, neck, or back).
  • Do not use if you have chest pain that feels like pressure, especially under the heart or behind the breastbone.
  • Do not use if you have a slow resting heart rate (below 50 beats per minute before starting treatment).
