How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 20 mg (1 tablet) 2 to 3 times a day, but your doctor will decide the exact dose for you.

Method

Take this medicine by mouth. Swallow the tablets whole, preferably with water. You can take it with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 200 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Heart palpitations, slow heartbeat
  • Increased saliva, feeling sick (nausea)
  • Increased sweating
RARE
  • Dizziness, headache, drowsiness (especially with high doses)
  • Increased phlegm/secretions in airways
  • Vomiting (especially with high doses)
  • Allergic skin reactions (itching, rash, especially with high doses)
  • Muscle cramps (especially with high doses)
  • Weakness (especially with high doses)
  • Diarrhea, pain in the upper middle abdomen

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Ipigrix if you are allergic to ipidacrine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, uncontrolled muscle movements (hyperkinesia), chest pain (angina), a slow heart rate (below 50 beats/minute at rest), asthma, blocked bowels or urinary tract, a worsening stomach or duodenal ulcer, or a balance disorder.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as it may cause premature labor.
  • This medicine can make you feel sleepy. Be careful when driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make side effects worse.

  • Ipigrix contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • If you experience any signs of a serious allergic reaction (like skin redness, itching, swelling of the mouth/throat, trouble breathing, or severe skin blistering), stop taking Ipigrix immediately and seek urgent medical help.
