How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide the dose based on your needs, weight, age, and the body part being examined.

Method

It is given as an injection into an artery, vein, spinal fluid, or body cavities.

Important

The dose is usually given as a single dose, but it may be repeated if necessary, as determined by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

  • Warm sensation

  • High blood pressure
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Redness, hives, or itching
  • Chest pain, warmth, or pain at the injection site
  • Fainting
  • Slow or fast heart rate; unusual heartbeats
  • Low blood pressure
  • Back pain
  • Weakness, stiffness, fever
  • Increased blood creatinine levels
  • Severe allergic reactions, including difficulty breathing or dizziness
  • Anxiety, confusion
  • Brain disorder (encephalopathy) with symptoms such as headache, vision problems, confusion, or paralysis
  • Overactive thyroid gland

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Iomeron or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have a severe thyroid disease.
  • Injections into the spinal fluid should not be immediately repeated.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had allergies, asthma, or previous reactions to contrast agents.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you develop severe skin reactions like blistering or peeling skin, fever, and flu-like symptoms.
