How to Use

Dosage

Iomeron is given as an injection into a vein or artery, into the spinal fluid, or into body cavities.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • A feeling of warmth.
  • Headache.
  • Dizziness.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Pain, discomfort, or warmth at the injection site.
  • Back or limb pain.
RARE
  • Breathing difficulties or shortness of breath.
  • Redness, hives, itching, or rash.
  • Chest pain.
  • Fainting or feeling faint.
  • Slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Weakness, stiffness, or fever.
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., very bad breathing problems or dizziness).
  • Restlessness or confusion.
  • Severe skin reactions (e.g., widespread red rash, blisters, skin peeling, or fever).
  • Brain issues (encephalopathy) such as headache, vision problems, confusion, seizures, or paralysis.
  • Overactive thyroid.
  • Numbness, tingling, or weakness in limbs.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Iomeron or its ingredients, or if you have a severe thyroid disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had allergies, asthma, or bad reactions to contrast agents before.
  • Inform your doctor if you have experienced severe skin reactions like rashes, peeling skin, or blisters after getting iodine contrast.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking blood pressure medication (beta-blockers).
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop severe skin reactions, such as widespread rash, fever, or swollen lymph nodes.
