How to Use

Dosage

For asthma, usually 1-2 puffs twice a day. For COPD, usually 2 puffs twice a day.

Method

Inhale the medicine through your mouth into your lungs. Always rinse your mouth with water or brush your teeth after each use to prevent a fungal infection in your mouth.

Important

Do not take more than 8 puffs in a 24-hour period, especially if you are using it for sudden symptoms.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fungal infections in the mouth and throat
  • Headache
  • Hoarseness or sore throat
  • Lung infection (pneumonia) in people with COPD, with symptoms like fever, chills, increased cough or mucus.
RARE
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat, or feeling your heart pound (palpitations).
  • Flu-like symptoms.
  • Asthma attack.
  • Nausea, changes in taste, dry mouth, stomach ache, or diarrhea.
  • Muscle pain or cramps, tremor (shaking), restlessness, dizziness, or hives.
  • Chest tightness, high or low blood pressure, or swelling of the skin or mucous membranes.
  • Shortness of breath, worsening asthma, or swelling of hands and feet.
  • Blurred vision.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to its active ingredients or other asthma medications.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, liver or kidney problems, low potassium levels, or a tumor in your adrenal gland.
  • Inform your doctor if you have tuberculosis or a viral or fungal infection in your lungs.
  • If your breathing gets worse or you start wheezing right after using this medicine, stop immediately and contact your doctor.
  • If you get signs of an allergic reaction like skin rash, itching, redness, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, contact your doctor right away.

  • Using high doses of inhaled corticosteroids for a long time can sometimes affect other parts of your body, like your adrenal glands or bones.
