How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children aged 6 months to 17 years receive one 0.5 ml dose.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give the vaccine as an injection into a muscle or deep under the skin.

Important

One 0.5 ml dose per day when administered.

COMMON

  • Swelling at the injection site
  • Bruising at the injection site

  • Irritability or restlessness
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
RARE
  • Skin reactions like itching, hives, or rash that can spread across the body
  • Blood vessel inflammation (vasculitis) that can cause rash and, rarely, temporary kidney problems
  • Nerve pain, tingling or numbness, seizures with fever, or nerve disorders that may cause stiff neck, confusion, limb pain/weakness, balance issues, or paralysis (e.g., Guillain-Barré syndrome)
  • Temporary decrease in platelets (can cause increased bruising/bleeding) or temporary swelling of glands in the neck, armpit, or groin

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you or your child are allergic to the active ingredients or any other components of the vaccine, including egg, formaldehyde, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, polysorbate 80, or gentamicin.
  • If you or your child have a high fever or an acute infection, vaccination should be postponed until recovery.
  • Tell your doctor if you or your child have a weakened immune system or are taking medicines that affect the immune system.
  • Inform your doctor if you or your child have bleeding problems or bruise easily.
  • Fainting or other stress-related reactions can occur after a needle injection; tell your doctor or nurse if you or your child have experienced this before.

  • If you or your child need a blood test within a few days after vaccination, tell your doctor, as the flu shot can sometimes cause false positive results.
  • Like all vaccines, Influvac Tetra may not provide full protection to everyone who gets vaccinated.
