How to Use

Dosage

Start with 2 tablets, then take 1 tablet after each loose bowel movement.

Method

Place the tablet on your tongue; it dissolves quickly and is swallowed with saliva; no water is needed.

Important

Maximum of 8 tablets per day.

  • Muscle stiffness
  • Coordination problems
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, hives, skin redness, or blisters.
  • Extreme tiredness, muscle stiffness, coordination problems, loss of consciousness.
  • Severe stomach pain and/or swollen stomach, which can be signs of a blocked or enlarged bowel.
  • Upper stomach pain, stomach pain that spreads to your back, tender stomach, fever, rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting, which can be signs of pancreatitis.

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to loperamide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • For children under 6 years old (under 20 kg).
  • If you have bloody stools or a high fever with diarrhea.
  • If you have inflammation of the large intestine (like acute ulcerative colitis).
  • If you have severe diarrhea caused by antibiotic treatment.

  • If your bowel movements are already slow, you have constipation, or a swollen stomach.
  • If you have a bowel infection caused by bacteria (like salmonella or shigella).
  • If you do not feel better within 2 days, stop taking the medicine and contact a doctor.
  • Do not take more than the recommended dose as it can cause serious heart problems.
  • If you have AIDS and your stomach swells, stop use immediately and contact a doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. For treatment of diarrhoea for no more than two days. Do not use for the treatment of febrile diarrhoea. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 20.5.2024)
