How to Use

Dosage

Usually, take one 50 mg tablet as soon as a migraine starts. Sometimes, a 100 mg tablet is needed.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Important

Do not take more than two Imigran Radis tablets within 24 hours, and a maximum of 300 mg per day. Wait at least two hours before taking a second dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Pain, pressure, tightness, or aching in the chest, throat, or other body parts.
  • Unusual sensations, like numbness, tingling, or feelings of heat or cold.
  • Nausea (feeling sick) or vomiting.
  • Tiredness or drowsiness.
  • Dizziness, feeling weak, hot flushes.
  • Temporary increase in blood pressure.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Muscle pain.
RARE
  • Breast pain.
  • Changes in liver function.
  • Seizures, tremor, muscle spasms, neck stiffness.
  • Vision problems, such as flashes of light, reduced vision, double vision, or even permanent vision loss.
  • Heart problems including faster or slower heartbeat, changes in heart rhythm, chest pain (angina pectoris), or heart attack.
  • Pale, bluish skin and/or pain in fingers, toes, ears, nose, or jaw due to cold or stress (Raynaud's syndrome).
  • Feeling faint (blood pressure may drop).
  • Pain in the lower left abdomen and bloody diarrhea (ischemic colitis).
  • Diarrhea.
  • Pain or worsening pain at the site of injury or inflammation (e.g., from rheumatism or bowel inflammation).
  • Joint pain.
  • Feeling of anxiety.
  • Difficulty swallowing.
  • Excessive sweating.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to sumatriptan, any other ingredients in this medicine, or to sulfonamide antibiotics.
  • Do not use if you have heart problems, such as chest pain or if you have had a heart attack.
  • Do not use if you have circulation problems in your legs causing cramp-like pain when walking.
  • Do not use if you have had a stroke or a mini-stroke (TIA).
  • Do not use if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled.

  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not use with other migraine medicines containing ergotamine or other triptans; wait at least 24 hours between using these and Imigran Radis.
  • Do not use if you have taken MAO inhibitor antidepressants in the last two weeks.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor. Do not breastfeed for 12 hours after taking this medicine.
  • This medicine can make you feel sleepy. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy.
  • Not recommended for children, teenagers under 18, or adults over 65 years.
  • If you are taking antidepressants (SSRI or SNRI) and experience agitation, confusion, sweating, or fast heartbeat, contact your doctor immediately as this could be serotonin syndrome.
  • Avoid St. John's Wort, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you feel chest pain or tightness after taking Imigran Radis, seek immediate medical help, especially if it doesn't go away quickly or gets worse.
  • Using Imigran Radis too often can make your headaches worse; talk to your doctor.
