How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 tablet (60 mg) once daily in the morning. If you get headaches at the start, your doctor might tell you to take half a tablet (30 mg) for the first 2-4 days.

Method

Swallow the whole tablet or half tablet with at least half a glass of liquid. Do not chew or crush it.

Important

Do not take more than one 60 mg tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Imdur if you are allergic to isosorbide-5-mononitrate or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Imdur is not for treating sudden chest pain. For sudden chest pain, use nitroglycerin tablets under the tongue or spray into the mouth.
  • Do not use Imdur if you have very low blood pressure, constrictive cardiomyopathy (a heart muscle disease), or pericarditis (inflammation around the heart).
  • Do not take Imdur with medicines for erectile dysfunction like sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or vardenafil (Levitra), as this can cause serious side effects like fainting or heart attack.
  • Talk to your doctor before using Imdur if you have severe cerebrovascular disease (problems with blood flow to the brain), low blood pressure, or severe heart failure, as Imdur can increase eye pressure in some patients.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Consider reduced blood pressure and the risk of fainting due to orthostatic hypotonia. Need for long-acting product should be assessed regularly. (updated 19.5.2025)
