This medicine treats hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks by blocking a substance called bradykinin, which helps stop symptoms like swelling and pain.
For adults, one injection (3 ml, 30 mg) is given under the skin as soon as an HAE attack starts. For children and adolescents (2-17 years, up to 65 kg), the dose is 1 ml to a maximum of 3 ml, based on body weight, given under the skin as soon as an HAE attack starts.
This medicine is given as an injection under the skin, usually in the fatty tissue of the stomach. Each syringe is for single use only.
Adults should not receive more than 3 injections in 24 hours. If more than 8 injections are needed in a month, talk to your doctor.
