How to Use

Dosage

For adults, one injection (3 ml, 30 mg) is typical. For children aged 2-17 years (weighing at least 12 kg), the dose is 1-3 ml based on body weight.

Method

Inject under the skin (subcutaneously) in the fatty tissue of the abdomen with a short needle.

Important

Do not take more than 3 injections in a 24-hour period.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Reactions at the injection site, like skin irritation, swelling, pain, itching, redness, or burning sensation.
  • Feeling of pressure, bruising, decreased sensation or numbness, raised itchy rash, and warmth at the injection site.
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Fever
  • Itching
  • Rash
  • Skin redness
  • Abnormal liver function test results.
RARE
  • Hives (urticaria).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you suffer from reduced blood flow to the heart muscle (angina).
  • Do not use if you have recently had a stroke.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if your HAE attack symptoms get worse after taking this medicine.
  • If you inject yourself or are injected during a laryngeal attack (swelling in the throat leading to difficulty breathing), seek immediate medical help.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you feel tired or dizzy after a HAE attack or after using this medicine.
