How to Use
Dosage
Take 1 tablet (400 mg) as a single dose, or up to 3 times a day as needed. Doses should be taken at least 6 hours apart.
Method
Take the tablets by mouth with a glass of water. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew, crush, break, or suck them. If you have a sensitive stomach, take the tablets with food.
Important
Do not take more than 3 tablets (1200 mg) in a 24-hour period.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Digestive problems like heartburn, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, gas, and constipation.
- •Minor bleeding in the stomach or intestines, which can rarely cause anemia (low red blood cells).
RARE
- •Allergic reactions like skin rash, itching, and asthma attacks.
- •Headache, dizziness, or feeling tired.
- •Stomach or intestinal ulcers, possibly with bleeding.
- •Hearing loss or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
- •Problems with blood cell production (e.g., anemia, low white blood cells or platelets).
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen or other ingredients in this medicine, or if you've had a severe allergic reaction (e.g., asthma attack, swollen face) to pain relievers before.
- Do not use if you currently have or have had stomach or intestinal bleeding or ulcers in the past.
- Do not use if you have severe heart, liver, or kidney failure.
- Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy.
- Do not use if you are severely dehydrated (e.g., from vomiting or diarrhea). Dehydrated young people are at increased risk of kidney problems.
