Ibumax-C

IBUMAX-C contains ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory painkiller) and vitamin C, used for temporary pain and fever, such as with colds, flu, headache, and muscle or joint pain.

How to Use

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1 tablet as needed.

Method

Take the tablet with enough liquid, for example, a glass of water.

Important

Do not take more than 3 tablets in one day (for adults/adolescents over 12). For children under 12, the maximum daily dose is 30 mg/kg; consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Increased tendency to bruise or nosebleed (due to weaker platelet function).
  • Low mood or drowsiness.
  • Dizziness or headache.
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Worsening heart failure (more swelling or shortness of breath).
  • Heartburn, upper stomach pain, nausea, or diarrhea.
  • Hives, itchy skin, or severe swelling of the skin or mucous membranes.
RARE
  • Confusion, nightmares, perception disorders, hallucinations, or paranoia.
  • Tingling or 'pins and needles' sensation in the skin without a clear reason (paresthesia).
  • Insomnia.
  • Mouth inflammation, digestive tract ulcers and bleeding, or bloody stools.
  • Decrease in blood platelets (may lead to increased bruising or nosebleeds).
  • Decrease or loss of white blood cells (may be linked to unexplained fever, flu-like symptoms, or sore throat).
  • State of confusion (in patients using tacrine).
  • Meningitis (in patients with certain connective tissue diseases).
  • Blurred vision or corneal changes.
  • Hearing loss.
  • Worsening of coronary artery disease symptoms (increased chest pain) or arrhythmias.
  • Shortness of breath or worsening asthma.
  • Digestive tract perforations, worsening ulcerative colitis, salivary gland inflammation, or pancreatitis.
  • Increased liver enzymes, jaundice, or liver inflammation (may appear as upper abdominal pain).
  • Severe flaky or blistering skin/mucous membrane reactions, worsening acne, hair loss, or worsening psoriasis.
  • Worsening kidney function.
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).
  • Skin sensitivity to light.
  • Chest pain, which could be a sign of a serious allergic reaction (Kounis syndrome).
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
  • Severe swelling of the skin or mucous membranes.
  • Swelling of the tongue or throat.
  • Dizziness or fainting.
  • Sudden, severe stomach pain or bloody vomit.
  • Red, flat, target-like or circular patches on the body, often with blisters in the center; skin peeling, sores in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals, and eyes. These severe rashes (exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis) may be preceded by fever and flu-like symptoms.
  • Widespread rash, high fever, and swollen lymph nodes (DRESS syndrome).
  • Red, widespread scaly rash with bumps under the skin and blisters, along with fever. These symptoms usually appear at the beginning of treatment (acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen, vitamin C, or any other ingredients in this medicine, or if you have had allergic reactions or worsening asthma from aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers.
  • Do not use if you have severe heart failure, an active stomach ulcer, a history of recurring stomach ulcers, or bleeding/perforation in the digestive tract from anti-inflammatory painkillers.
  • Do not use if you have a bleeding disorder (like hemophilia) or low platelet count, or during the last three months of pregnancy (weeks 28-40).
  • Stop using IBUMAX-C immediately and get medical help right away if you experience signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, swelling of your face or throat, or chest pain.
  • Taking ibuprofen-like painkillers might slightly increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with high doses or long-term use. Do not take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than advised.

  • Stop using IBUMAX-C and contact a doctor immediately if you get severe skin reactions like widespread rash, blisters, or peeling skin (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, DRESS).
  • Dehydrated children and adolescents are at risk of kidney problems.
  • Always tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications you are taking, as IBUMAX-C can affect or be affected by them.
