How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 2.5 mg tablet three times a day. Your doctor may slowly increase this to a typical maintenance dose of 10 mg three times a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water. You can take this medicine with or without food. The score line is only to help you swallow, not to divide into equal doses.

Important

Do not take more than 30 mg in total per day, divided into three doses.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to midodrine hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have a slow heart rate.
  • Do not take if you have difficulty urinating.
  • Do not take if you have certain heart or blood vessel diseases.

  • Do not take if you have high eye pressure (glaucoma) or poor vision due to diabetes.
  • Do not take if you have an overactive thyroid.
  • Do not take if you have hormonal problems caused by an adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma).
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney disease.
  • Do not take if you have an enlarged prostate.
  • Your blood pressure should be checked regularly while lying down and standing up, as there is a risk of your blood pressure rising when you lie down, for example at night. If this happens and lowering the dose does not fix it, treatment with this medicine must be stopped.
  • Do not take this medicine late in the evening. Take the last dose of the day at least 4 hours before going to bed.
  • Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or for women who could become pregnant and are not using contraception. Do not use this medicine while breastfeeding.
