Hypoloc Comp is a combination medicine containing nebivolol and hydrochlorothiazide, used to treat high blood pressure by slowing your heart rate, relaxing blood vessels, and increasing urine production.

How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with water, preferably at the same time each day. You can take it with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

Possible Side Effects

  • Shortness of breath (like asthma), due to sudden spasms in the muscles around the airways

  • Worsening of psoriasis (a skin disease with pink, scaly patches)
  • Full-body allergic reactions with widespread skin rash
  • Rapid swelling, especially of the lips, eyes, or tongue, potentially with sudden breathing difficulties (angioedema)
  • Skin rash with redness, itching, and visible small bumps, which can be an allergic or non-allergic reaction (urticaria)
  • Skin and lip cancer (non-melanoma skin cancer)
  • Heart rhythm disturbances, palpitations
  • ECG changes
  • Sudden fainting when standing up, blood clot formation in vessels (thrombosis) and embolism, circulatory collapse (shock)
  • Changes in blood cell count (reduction of white blood cells, platelets, red blood cells, decreased new blood cell production in bone marrow)
  • Changes in body fluid balance (dehydration) and blood chemistry (decreased potassium, sodium, magnesium, chloride; increased calcium)
  • Increased uric acid, gout, increased blood sugar, diabetes, metabolic alkalosis, increased cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels
  • Loss of appetite, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, decreased bowel movement (constipation), lack of bowel movement (paralytic ileus), gas
  • Salivary gland inflammation, pancreatitis, increased amylase levels (pancreatic enzyme)
  • Yellow skin (jaundice), gallbladder inflammation
  • Respiratory depression, lung inflammation (pneumonitis), fibrous tissue growth in lungs (interstitial lung disease), fluid accumulation in lungs (pulmonary edema)
  • Acute respiratory distress (signs include severe shortness of breath, fever, weakness, and confusion)
  • Vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • Convulsions, decreased level of consciousness, coma, headache, dizziness
  • Apathy, confusion, depression, nervousness, anxiety, sleep disturbances
  • Muscle weakness (paresis)
  • Itching, purplish spots/patches on skin (purpura), hives (urticaria), increased skin sensitivity to sunlight, rash, facial rash and/or blotchy redness that can cause scarring (cutaneous lupus erythematosus), vasculitis with tissue death (necrotizing vasculitis), peeling, redness, loosening of skin and blistering (toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Yellow vision, blurred vision, worsening nearsightedness, decreased tear production; impaired vision or eye pain due to high eye pressure (possible signs of fluid accumulation in the choroid of the eye or acute angle-closure glaucoma)
  • Muscle cramps, muscle pain
  • Kidney dysfunction, acute kidney failure (decreased urine output and accumulation of fluids and waste products in the body), interstitial nephritis, sugar excretion in urine
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • General weakness, tiredness, fever, thirst

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to nebivolol, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients, or to other sulfonamide derivatives.
  • Avoid use if you have a very slow heart rate (below 60 beats per minute), severe heart problems, uncontrolled heart failure, very low blood pressure, severe circulation problems in your arms or legs, untreated adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma), severe kidney problems or complete lack of urine production, metabolic acidosis, asthma or wheezing, liver problems, high calcium levels, or persistently low potassium/sodium levels that don't respond to treatment, or high uric acid levels with gout symptoms.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or operate machinery.
  • Be careful with alcohol intake. It can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded. If this happens, avoid all alcohol, including wine, beer, or alcoholic sweets.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had skin cancer or notice any new skin changes. Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the risk of certain skin and lip cancers, especially with long-term, high-dose use. Protect your skin from sun and UV light while taking this medicine.
  • If you experience blurred vision or eye pain, these could be signs of fluid build-up in the eye or increased eye pressure. Seek immediate medical attention as it can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated.
  • Hydrochlorothiazide can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight or artificial UV light. Stop taking the tablets and tell your doctor if you develop a rash, itchy patches, or sensitive skin during treatment.
