Hypoloc is a medicine containing nebivolol that helps treat heart and blood vessel diseases by lowering heart rate, regulating heart pumping, widening blood vessels, and reducing blood pressure, and is also used for chronic heart failure in patients over 70.

How to Use

Dosage

For high blood pressure, the usual dose is one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day.

Method

Take the tablet with water, either before, during, or after a meal, or independently of meals.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose is 2 tablets (10 mg).

  • Digestive problems (indigestion), gas in stomach or intestines, vomiting
  • Rash, itching
  • Asthma-like shortness of breath due to sudden muscle spasms in the airways (bronchospasm)
  • Nightmares
  • Fainting
  • Worsening of psoriasis (a skin condition with red, scaly patches)
  • Generalized allergic reactions with widespread skin rashes (hypersensitivity reactions)
  • Sudden swelling, especially around the lips, eyes, or tongue, possibly with acute breathing difficulties (angioedema)
  • Rash with red, itchy bumps (urticaria), which may be allergic or non-allergic.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to nebivolol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure or a very slow heart rate (below 60 beats per minute).
  • Do not use if you have severe heart rhythm problems, uncontrolled chronic heart failure, or heart failure that has recently worsened.
  • Do not use if you have severe blood circulation problems in your arms or legs.
  • Do not use if you have asthma or wheezing (breathing difficulties).

  • Do not use if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • Do not use if you have a metabolic disorder like diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • Do not use if you have an untreated pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal gland).
  • Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor, as it can worsen your condition.
  • If you have diabetes, this medicine may hide symptoms of low blood sugar, so monitor your blood sugar carefully.
  • Always inform your anesthetist that you are taking Hypoloc if you are going to have surgery.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia, orthostatic hypotension and bronchial contraction..
