How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor or nurse will decide your dose based on your pain, age, and weight. For single doses, typically 1-2 mg given slowly into a vein or under the skin every 3-4 hours. For continuous infusion, typically 0.15-0.45 mg per hour.
Method
This medicine is given by a doctor or nurse as an injection into a vein or under the skin, or as a continuous drip (infusion).
Important
The doctor will carefully adjust your dose to control your pain and determine your maximum daily dose. Never take more than your doctor prescribes.

- •Dizziness, feeling more sleepy than usual

- •Headache, trembling, muscle twitching, tingling in hands and feet

- •Digestive problems
- •Decreased sex drive, inability to get or keep an erection
- •Needing more of the medicine for the same effect (tolerance)
- •Withdrawal symptoms (e.g., agitation, anxiety, nervousness, trouble sleeping, shaking, stomach problems)
- •Tiredness
- •Depression, nightmares
- •Shortness of breath
- •Diarrhea, changes in taste
- •Can affect liver blood tests
- •Drug dependence
- •Seizures, feeling very sleepy or calm
- •Slow heartbeat, irregular heartbeat

Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to hydromorphone or any other ingredients.
- Tell your doctor if you have severe breathing problems or a history of seizures.
- Do not use this medicine if you are taking certain antidepressants (MAO inhibitors) or have taken them in the last two weeks.
- Using alcohol or other sedative medicines at the same time can cause serious side effects like severe drowsiness or breathing difficulties.
- Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly; always talk to your doctor first to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
