Histec is an allergy medication used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and chronic hives in adults and children over 6 years old.

How to Use
Dosage
For adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 mg (1 tablet) once daily. For children aged 6-12 years: 5 mg (half a tablet) twice daily. Your doctor may adjust the dose if you have kidney problems.
Method
Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.

- •Muscle problems (e.g., abnormal muscle tone, uncontrolled movements, tics)
- •Urinary problems (e.g., bedwetting, painful urination, difficulty urinating)
- •Drug rash
- •Increased appetite
- •Spinning sensation (vertigo)
- •Memory loss or impairment
- •Suicidal thoughts, nightmares
- •Inability to empty bladder completely (urine retention)
- •Intense itching and/or hives upon stopping medication
- •Joint or muscle pain
- •Blistering rash (acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis)
- •Hepatitis (liver inflammation)
Important Warnings
- Do not take if you have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis.
- Do not take if you are allergic to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
- Consult your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
- Consult your doctor if you have epilepsy or are prone to seizures.
- Histec may increase the risk of difficulty urinating (urine retention) if you have problems emptying your bladder.

- Stop taking Histec 3 days before an allergy test, as it can affect the results.
- Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years old.
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
- Avoid using Histec during pregnancy.
- Do not use Histec while breastfeeding without first talking to your doctor.
- This medicine contains lactose. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor.
