How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet every day for 21 days.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a small amount of water at the same time each day, then take a 7-day break before starting a new pack.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, including migraine
  • Spotting or breakthrough bleeding
  • Vaginal infections
  • Mood changes, including depression
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Acne
  • Breast pain, tenderness, enlargement, or discharge
  • Painful periods, changes in menstrual flow or discharge, missed periods
  • Fluid retention
  • Weight changes (gain or loss)
RARE
  • Changes in appetite (increased or decreased)
  • Abdominal cramps or bloating
  • Rash
  • Brown or black liver spots (chloasma)
  • Hair loss or excessive hair growth
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Changes in blood fat levels (e.g., increased triglycerides)
  • Pancreatitis
  • Liver problems (e.g., benign tumors, abnormal function, gallstones, itching, jaundice)
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Dangerous blood clots in veins or arteries (e.g., in legs, lungs, heart, brain, eyes)

Important Warnings

  • This medicine does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted diseases.
  • There is a small increased risk of blood clots, especially in the first year or if you restart after a break of 4 weeks or more. Contact a doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot (e.g., leg pain/swelling, sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness on one side of the body).
  • Do not use Harmonet if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have had a blood clot, a blood clotting disorder, certain cancers (like breast or uterine cancer), severe liver disease, or certain heart problems.
  • If you experience swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, or hives with breathing difficulties, seek immediate medical help as these could be signs of angioedema.
